In common with ALIS, 'e-ALIS' adopts a common electrode on the front glass panel, while it adopts a grid cell structure on the back glass panel. Only half the electrodes are required compared with other XGA panels. By adopting the original driving method to this panel structure,
FHP realises a progressive display and also achieves high brightness of 1000cd/m2. This new method alternately addresses odd lines and even lines during addressing time, and after that, displays all lines at once (progressive display). Further, by improving colour temperature (9000K), it allows a higher quality of colour reproduction for TV images, such as blue sky and white clouds.
